Doubt is part of parenting

As a parent, you face choices and questions every day. Is this the right approach? Should I have reacted differently? Am I doing enough? This uncertainty is very normal and occurs in almost all parents.

At We Care Academy, we want you to know that uncertainty is not a weakness. It is a sign that you are involved and that you want the best for your child.

Where uncertainty comes from

  • conflicting advice from those around you, books, or the internet
  • comparing yourself to other parents or children
  • high expectations you set for yourself
  • lack of sleep and rest
  • new situations you have no experience with
  • your own upbringing history

How to deal with uncertainty

You don't always need to know the answer. What helps is:

  • accept that uncertainty is part of it
  • trust your own feelings and observations
  • limit the number of sources you consult
  • talk to other parents who dare to be honest
  • focus on what goes well rather than what should be better
  • seek professional help if uncertainty turns into anxiety

Good enough is good enough

Perfect parenting doesn't exist. What does exist is good enough parenting: being present, doing your best, and being willing to learn. That is what your child needs.

At We Care Academy, you will find support and information to deal with the uncertainties of parenting with more calm and confidence.
