Time for yourself after birth

After delivery, everything revolves around your baby. But your body and mind also need time to recover. Recovery after birth is not just physical — it is also emotional. And it is different for everyone and goes at its own pace.

At We Care Academy, we believe it is important that there is also attention for you as a parent. You have been through something significant and you deserve rest, care, and understanding.

Physical recovery

Your body worked hard during pregnancy and birth. Physical recovery can take weeks to months and includes:

  • recovery of the uterus
  • healing of any wounds or stitches
  • hormonal changes
  • fatigue and sleep deprivation
  • pelvic floor recovery

Listen to your body and give yourself time. Recovery is not a race.

Emotional recovery

After birth, many emotions can surface. Joy, relief, but also sadness, disappointment, or feeling overwhelmed. The baby blues in the first days is very normal. If low feelings persist longer, it is important to seek help.

What you can do

  • accept help from your partner, family, or professionals
  • sleep when your baby sleeps
  • eat healthily and drink enough
  • limit visitors if that feels better
  • talk about how you feel
  • take small moments for yourself

At We Care Academy, you will find information and support for your recovery after birth. You don't have to do it alone.
