Learning to trust again
After a difficult birth or a period of uncertainty, trust in your body, in healthcare, or in yourself as a parent can be damaged. That is understandable. Restoring trust is a process that requires time, patience, and gentleness.
At We Care Academy, we believe that restoring trust is possible. Step by step, at your own pace.
What can damage trust
- a birth that was traumatic
- feeling unheard by care providers
- complications you didn't expect
- loss of control during delivery
- postnatal depression or anxiety
- feeling like you're failing as a parent
How trust can be restored
Trust doesn't come back by forcing it. It grows through small experiences of safety and connection:
- acknowledge what you've been through and give it a place
- talk about it with someone who understands you
- seek professional guidance if needed
- take small steps and celebrate each bit of progress
- surround yourself with people who support you
- be kind to yourself — recovery is not a straight line
Trust in a future pregnancy
If you are considering becoming pregnant again after a difficult experience, many feelings may arise. Fear, hope, doubt, and longing can all exist side by side. It is important to give attention to this and seek support.
You are stronger than you think
The fact that you are here and informing yourself already shows that you are working on recovery. At We Care Academy, you will find information, recognition, and opportunities to let trust in yourself and your body grow step by step.
